Thinking about Proposing? Read these Tips First!

Before you know it, Engagement Season will be upon us. If you are thinking of getting down on one knee anytime soon, check out these cool tips to make sure your proposal is one you and your partner will never forget!

First, (if you do not already know!), find out their favorite flower, music, jewelry design, and anything else you can think of that you would want to include in the proposal. Have fresh flowers on hand, potentially someone singing or playing an instrument (unless you are the musician in this scenario) of their favorite song or your song as a couple, and know their ring size and which diamond shapes they like the most! If you do not know, ask friends of theirs that are not likely to spill the beans 😉

Who to Invite

Some people do not want to have anyone else around during intimate moments such as this, while others who are more community oriented, love being surrounded by friends and family during big events. It is imperative that you know what your partner is comfortable with so that the occasion can feel perfect for the two of you. Public proposals are fun, but not always the right decision as many people want privacy. A good idea is to get the best of both worlds, which means proposing in private and then inviting family and friends out after to celebrate!

Location

The location of the proposal is SO important! This will be the place the two of you think back to fondly. It should be sentimental or a place that stands out to you in some way that you know your future fiancĂ©/fiancĂ©e will love. If you know they aren’t the biggest basketball fan, maybe don’t propose on the jumbotron at an NBA game. If you travel to the Cliffs of Moher and the weather is beautiful, then that could potentially be the perfect setting! Also, if you plan for it to be outside, have a backup plan in case of poor weather.

Photography and Cinematography

Having a photographer and even a cinematographer on hand to document the proposal is very important for many couples. The moment that is so significant in a relationship should be more than just a fond memory. Photos and videos for you, your fiancé/fiancée and your friends and family of the event are always a cherished possession. If you are in need of this, Exclusively Entertainment has wonderful photographers and cinematographers at your disposal!

Make it your own!

You know your relationship and what brings the two of you together. Adding personal touches will make it stand out. Make your partner realize why you two fell in love and how important they are to you. This could be one of your favorite things you as a couple love or adding something the both of you did in the early days. Either way, your partner will love it and gush about it after the proposal!

Remember, don’t sweat it. This is an exciting time, and if it’s meant to be it will be!
